http://uppermoretonfarm.co.uk/about-us/ Do you find yourself in the same difficult situations over and over again? Do you feel trapped in your job, or in a relationship, and it seems like a recurring theme in your life? Or perhaps you are faced with confrontation more often than you would like.
Yasenevo You may think you are cursed, or that the Universe is out to get you – but it’s really life’s way of providing you with an opportunity for change – change that must occur within you!
In my experience working with clients, unwelcome situations repeat themselves when we place blame on things that are external to us – such as other people or circumstances. When we do this, the tendency is to sit back and wait for that external force to change. It should be no surprise that most often, things don’t change on their own, and we find ourselves in the same situation again!
But there is good news! Everything you need to prevent these unwanted situations has always been right in front of you. The secret is to look within yourself, instead of focusing outward. Take the story of The Man and The Butterfly, for example:
“A man found a cocoon of a butterfly and one day as he watched a small opening appeared.
He sat there and watched the butterfly for hours as it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole in the cocoon.
Then the butterfly stopped, as if it couldn’t go further.
The man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon.
The butterfly emerged easily but it was not as it should be it had a swollen body and small shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch it, expecting that any minute the wings would enlarge and expand enough to support the body. Neither happened!
The butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around, it was never able to fly.
What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required by the butterfly to get through the opening was natures way of forcing the fluid from the swollen body into its wings so that the wings could unfold and enable the butterfly for flight.”
“The Story of the Man and the Butterfly” is written by an unknown author. It is a beautiful metaphor which reminds us that, in order to create change in our life, it has to come from inside ourselves. It cannot be given to us or created by others. There must be effort on our part.
Many people want to change their lives, but are unwilling to put in the necessary effort and work to make it happen. Instead, people look externally for answers, which usually leads to disappointment.
Are you ready to create change in your life?
